TRANSITIONAL LIVING CENTRES (TLC) was founded in 1999 to provide community-based residential rehabilitation services for persons with an acquired brain injury. TLC is the leading provider of community reintegration services in Manitoba for persons with acquired brain injury.

 

Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment during the rehabilitation process as residents’ progress in their independent living skills.

 

Your Opportunity:

We are seeking Community Reintergation Workers (CRW) to serve as key members of our team in Winnipeg.

 

As a Community Reintergation Worker (CRW), you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals with acquired brain injuries in a residential setting. You must display the ability to understand and support our program participant’s rehabilitation goals and to develop and maintain positive relationships with our participants.

 

This includes but is not limited to: helping our clients perform a variety of (Activities of Daily Living) ADL and instrumental ADL (such as meal preparation, transferring, stand-by shower assistance, assisting with house cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, dispensing and administration of medication and attending medical appointments or leisure activities) as well as assisting with in-home therapies as recommended and directed by medical professionals. In addition, at the end of your shift, you must provide a clear and accurate progress reports (both written and verbal) to colleagues and supervisors about the clients you worked with.

 

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must possess the following qualifications to be considered for this position:

·      Grade 12 (or equivalent) and a desire to work with people with disabilities.

·      Current First Aid / CPR certificate is mandatory

·      Have current Criminal Records and Vulnerable Persons clearance.

·      Fluency and ability to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal) is essential.

Desired Assets:

·      Work well on your own and as part of a team while demonstrating strong social skills.

·       Interest and willingness to learn new skills. Educational background or previous work experience in the Human Services/Healthcare field.

·      Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.

·      Valid Driver’s License. (Use of a reliable vehicle for work purposes is an asset).
